Childhood

Grasping onto the last vestiges of Childood
She takes her place at the mast of the ship
She slots a one-million coin into the slot
And she sets off on an adventure
Through exotic seas.
In search of exotic lands.
In search of Peter Pan Forever Boy
So that she can be his Wendy Forever Girl
Fulfil Promises of Non-Adulthoood, of Forever Childhood.
"It cost 20 cents the last time you took it"

And it had to take inflation to remind her how long it was
Since she was last a True Child.

Capacity for Love

she doubts her own
Capacity for Love
Doubts proclamations of
"I cannot live without you"
"I cannot go a day without you"
because she can
oh she can
and thus she casts her own
Humanity
into question.
