first blog in ages
kbox was fun. bleagh long time in ages. going again next week and maybe next next week if i get my way mwahahaha. the lunch time slot is really worth the money..
anyway exams are over.. woo hoo.. i have to face the music next week.. damn. i need divine help if i'm ever going to get s paper.
just read tuesdays with morrie. first proper book i read in an eon. oh my god it is the first book that has made me cry. sometimes death isn't as bad as it seems. its dying with dignity that counts. human relations? I suck at them but i guess i gotta work harder... probably have hurt some people unwittingly due to my tactlessness... bleagh. but ah well "love each other or perish" , morrie's favourite quote by the poet auden. love.. how can someone like morrie, suffering from a terminal diseased(some kind of sclerosis) that takes his independence away by first destroying his ability to walk, then to wiping his own ass, only indulge in self pity for a few minutes each day,and finds the strength to meet people everyday to share his experiences and insights on dying and be a teacher to mitch albom to the last. kind of like a modern-day jesus. it is true that many pioneers of religions were often teachers like jesus buddha and lao zi. i need to read more. what is the meaning of life? hmm..haha reminds me of this blog i last wrote about embracing death... i've still got many questions though. what would morrie think about euthanasia? hmm... what if he met that guy in "the sea inside"...
it seems that we never truly live until we start to die. tension of opposites between what we want and what is expected of us prevents us from truly living, making us go through our daily routines half-asleep, thinking trivial things important. but it is so hard to break out of it all and go beyond. death would be the best catalyst.
i'm rambling aren't i but the bottom line is. TUESDAYS WITH MORRIE IS A GOOD BOOK! GO READ IT NOW! i shall buy a copy for myself.
